WHERE DIASPORA EXPERTISE MEETS LOCAL NEED

Center for Global Health and International Development

Who Are We?

We are an organization based in Germany dedicated to harnessing the expertise of diaspora health professionals and channelling it back into the communities that need it the most.
We work at the intersection of research, policy, and practice to build stronger, more equitable health systems across Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).

We Connect

Bridging diaspora professionals, health systems, academia, and policymakers

Why Diaspora Engagement?

LMICs face some of the world's most complex health challenges, yet much of their talent lives abroad. This is the reality of brain drain: decades of conflict, instability, and limited opportunity have driven skilled professionals out of the region, leaving health systems under-resourced and overstretched.
Diaspora communities don't leave their homelands behind. They carry their heritage, their networks, and their drive to give back. At GHID, we turn that drive into action.
While diaspora communities send billions in remittances annually, their knowledge and expertise, an equally powerful resource, are often untapped. We’re changing that.
